Stretching Board

The purpose of the stretching is to allow both the educator and the child to engage in mindful thinking where priority is given to the experience of the present moment and concentration of thoughts is expended on the stretching movements and listening of one’s own breathing.

Stretching activities can be done several times during the day; for example, in a line-up, before going into the group area, after active time, and before large group time such as assemblies or concerts. It is recommended to allow the children to interpret the stretch on their own.
